What this means for the neighbourhood Greenhouse Sthlm?
One of the most important consequences of this commitment is to ensure sustainability is one of the top criteria in all decisions taken in the development. This manifests in a wide range of solutions, from sustainable material choices and energy solutions to offering shared services within the neighbourhood with the view to make it easier for everyone who lives and works in the neighbourhood to cut the individual climate footprint.
Highlights for the first development phase:
* 57% reduction in carbon footprint compared to traditional building (NollCO2)
* Highest BREEAM score so far in Sweden (96,6%) and 7th higest globally (office buildings)
* Double-win in BREEAM Awards 2025
* Constructed primarily from CLT and glulam, using FSC-certified spruce from forests in central Sweden
* The CO2 stored in the building’s timber frame exceeds the amount emitted during it’s construction
* 42% lower carbon footprint compared to BBR standards
* EPD on 50% of the built in products (72% of the climate footprint)
* Climate-improved concrete (basement level)
* Locally reclaimed brick used on the new office building’s facades
* Electrolux solar panels on the roofs (with EPDs)
* Energy-efficient premium appliances
* Biogas-powered fireplaces
* Inspired by the "15-minute city" concept and featuring examples of the sharing economy within the neighborhood
